Lime plastering with only one coat, can I use one coat of lime plaster? yes,
Veneer lime plastering means a thin application of lime plaster. One coat veneer means one coat of lime plaster.
Can I use one coat of lime plaster? yes

One coat veneer Lime plastering, can you skip the veneer basecoat? Can it be done? Yes.
Lime Blistering is expected if one does not apply a basecoat first. Read on.

Blistering In Lime finishes occurs when one is unsure of the set time; if you’re just going to spread a finish Lime coat of plaster, skill or experience is necessary.
For example, I just applied a finished coat of lime plaster in this video.
One must understand when It sets, which comes from practicing.

Meaning; if I steal troweled it too soon, the new lime finish can pull away for the bonding agent causing blistering and spider checking.
If you are not sure, apply a basecoat. It’s difficult for Lime to finish plaster to separate from a sandy basecoat but easy for a lime finish to separate from A bonding agent; this learning takes practice.

For example, applying no base coat over Cement plaster as in this video or sheetrock, while eliminating the Basecoat process and using only a veneer finish over sheetrock, blistering can happen unless that person is an expert with interior plastering materials.
What does this really mean?
Excellent question, glad you asked.

When applying a finish coat of lime plaster over a glued surface, spread the veneer finish to the entire wall without unnecessary troweling; then, when ready, smooth out the plaster with water and experience trowel it down with few strokes as possible.

Or for exterior cement plastering with many of them, “one coat materials,” if you over-mix them, you destroy the structural integrity that gives these cement plasters strength.
I have in my time over troweled some of these same-day materials. Of course, they won’t bubble or blister. Still, a person can destroy the integrity by over-troweling just as quickly as over-mixing, as that is precisely what happens when you over towel same-day cement plasters.
I have many videos where I explain in further detail this logic.

Trying to find Veneer plasters, you’re not alone. HD and lowes only sometimes carry Diamond or imperial veneer Plaster.
Most veneer plasters can be found at the nearest plastering yards, thus google plastering yards near me. Here’s a new video on veneer plaster and what the word really means.
FYI, interior lime plaster goes back to the beginning of time.

Why is it called Veneer lime plastering, an old-fashioned term/name outdated and often misunderstood? “veneer means a thin coat.”

Word “Veneer” has nothing to do with the lime plaster plastering.
