Different methods for adhering mesh tape, painted or porous walls

Hello guys and gals, in this video I was trying to get across, was If you have a porous wall (brown coat with cracks) and you want the mesh tape to adhere to this wall, use a Portland type of soupy mud (add a lot of water to the cement), or hand apply a poly bond with a trowel.
on the other wall we had a painted wall which we applied a bonding agent over so that when I applied the mesh tape this wall I used the same bonding agent to secure the mesh tape. This way we don’t get a ghosting effect.
