How to lath a Cold joint so you don’t get a perimeter crack
Howdy guys and gals, in this video I show how I lath a patch where there is what we call in the plastering industry a cold joint, without breaking out to the next stud. A cold joint is more likely to hairline at the joint if not broken out and tied in well, can this area hairline crack if all precautions are taken, of course, all stucco and concrete walls are prone to cracking no matter what precautions are taken. Best insurance is always for a person to do everything within your knowledge to minimize such things. (A cold joint can also be where a brown coat meets another brown coat in the middle of a wall.)
An applicator should always finish the brown coat from wall to wall when applying stucco base coats.
