Repair Stucco from a Car hit.
Fix a Small Stucco Hole from a car hit.
Backed car up into my porch.
Howdy folks, I think everyone has hit the nearest thing after a lifetime of driving, sometimes multiple times, as driveways are often tight squeezes.
I know I have.
Ayway, what we did was pull or remove all the loose stucco then wire brushed the area so that we could get some paper and wires in the vertical crack.
This prep work protects the vertical crack from future rains, then we could apply a quick-setting “Rapid Set Stucco.” This particular stucco is sold everywhere.
That’s right, HD or Lowe’s and every other mom-and-pop hardware store.
Sometimes a ten pound box is all you need, For those of you who need more, they also sell 25 pound boxes, and even bags that weigh around 90 pounds. This product has sand in it you just add water.
Tip: don’t mix for more than five minutes. Why?
Like all same-day stucco, this will weaken the strength.
We used a bonding agent Weld-Crete made by Larsons in order to bond our new stucco to this painted stucco, any stucco past the vertical crack in order to feather the work in perfectly or close as possible.
Now, new stucco should set for at least a week or so, then you can paint it.
For painting, I’d recommend priming and painting all exterior new stucco with an elastomeric paint. Why? That’s a good question.
Think of this paint as a rubber coating, when dry it’s like a rubber coating that flexes and last the longest also.

Together, my family and I have created and contributed the most comprehensive online encyclopedia of Stucco and Plastering videos, providing inspiration, education, and hopefully some enjoyment for your most common home repairs.
Here’s a tip, folks: Yelp, try to find companies that genuinely enjoy their craft. Go on Yelp to read the comments, then pick someone who you believe finds their craft therapeutic and rewarding.
Folks can depend on us for sound advice or working ethics on their jobs, whether the video methods were recently uploaded or uploaded 15 years ago, as Stucco, unlike electronics like phones, has remained essentially unchanged in its applications for hundreds of years.
The materials have changed, but the applications have remained the same.
From the entire Giordano plastering family, we thank you for watching.
