Should expansion joints be installed on a stucco home

Howdy guys and gals, this video explains how I installed the new expansion joints after the house had been built for several years. Generally we install expansion joints according to building plans however sometimes where a crack will appear it’s best to install one then to just apply caulking.
The International Building Code and most model building codes reference ASTM C1063, the Standard Specification for the Installation of Lathing and Furring to Receive Interior and Exterior Portland Cement-Based Plaster, as the lath installation specification. C1063 makes no differentiation between control and expansion joints—however, let’s consider control joints to be one-piece joints and all two- or three-piece joints, including back to back casing beads to be expansion joints. Generally, the industry uses the terms interchangeably. This is an insert from the international building code as a reference. Need more info? Google expansion or control joints, you can read forever as there’s tons of information on these topics.
