Waterproofing parapet roofs
Howdy gals and guys, in this step by step show and tell video. I explain if you’re going to have stucco on a parapet caps you had better know how to waterproof that cap. We explain how to waterproof a parapet cap.
I have worked on at least 40 homes in the last 30 years where wood rot has been the results of failing parapet membranes. We went far above all city code requirements, as best to play it safe than 20 years later end up with a leak.
We installed two layer of Jumbo Tex plus the roof membrane plus a top of the line peal and stick membrane. It’s a bit over kill but I sleep well at night, rather than worry about a possible leaking stucco wall.
