For those of you wondering why stucco is bulging at the bottom of the wall.
Rainwater can be trapped inside the walls. The water can expand the wood, causing the stucco to bulge or buckle and then separate.
Folks, Mesh stucco vents can also lead to the rotting of underlying wood sheathing and structural members like studs.
We use advanced stucco that can be applied 6 inches thick if you know how to and why. Most don’t. Vents are one of the simplest and most common sources of rainwater intrusion, so next time you see just the mesh ones on the southwest side of your home, consider the louver ones.
